Elaine Starkey | Co-founder and CEO

Elaine Starkey merged her publishing business into studylane bringing the high profile industry guide ‘AIETG’ contacts and content into the company. 

Elaine has published many print and eBooks for Austrade and run a successful publishing company. She has won many sales awards over her career including being one of the foundation sales team for Ryanair.

Elaine has a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Applied Psychology and a HDE from University College Cork.

Bipul Kafley | Co-founder and CSO

Tapping into his own former needs as an international student, Bipul designed the studylane concept.

Bipul is the driving force behind studylane’s technical operations with a keen understanding of the agents and their role in the education sector.

Bipul has worked extensively in the Information Technology sector with the Queensland Police, Queensland Education, CBA, Virgin, Flight Centre.

He has an IT degree from Central Queensland University, Building Business Model qualification from Stanford University and is currently completing his MBA.

Steven Ezzes | Managing Director (USA)

Steve Ezzes joined studylane as Managing Director for the USA and Chairman of the Board in early 2016.

Steve hails from a distinguished career in investment banking in New York with previous roles with Mariner Investment Group, TH Lee among others.

Steve has a long standing connection with Australia including serving as a Board Director of OzEmail with Australia’s current Prime Minister, Malcolm Turnbull. He was instrumental in OzEmail’s successful initial public offering and listing on the NASDAQ stock exchange in 1996.

Gautham Kasinath | Head of Technology 

Gautham will drive technology development to deliver a robust, scalable and agile platform. Having previously founded an education sector technology startup, he is familiar with challenges being faced. 

Previously, Gautham was with start-up successes Confluent Software Inc. and Securent Inc where he gained deep technology and management skills.

He has an excellent track record in delivering via multiple teams in Insurance, Financial and Telco domains. Gautham has a Master (Research) degree in Computer Science (Security).

Marcelo Pangoni | International Manager

Marcelo oversees GSP global operations including policies and practices on students' applications and partnership agreements with agents and institutions.

Marcelo has worked as a research and statistical analyst at Strategy Policy and Research in Education (SPRE). He contributed to the Australian International Education industry including Group of Eight Australian leading universities, Innovative Research Universities and English Entry Channels and Academic Performance 2012 reports.

He has also worked in the international marketing area at TAFE Queensland International and The University of Queensland.

Shivali Mehendale | Country Manager – India

Shivali has over 15 years of detailed experience working in the international education industry in India.

She has spent several years in hands-on face-to-face student counseling roles, delivering educational options and outcomes to Indian students wishing to study in Australia. Importantly, for the past 8 years, Shivali has been responsible for marketing and representing an Australian university in India.

Using this deep regional operational knowledge and network of agents and influencers in the Indian market and her experience of the Australian education system requirements, Shivali is responsible for the development and management the GSP agent network program for India.

Nicole Zabbal | Manager – Student Counselling   

Nicole has over twenty years’ experience in international and onshore education. She has been instrumental in the development of key national education and training initiatives that effect long-lasting social and economic change through learning in TAFE NSW colleges and OTEN. Nicole was also the recipient of two significant national research projects through the Western Sydney Institute, Invitation to Innovate (i2i) Fund.

Overseas, Nicole was involved in integrated capacity building programs through various donor agencies, including UNICEF, USAID and the Canadian Embassy, as well as international educational institutions including AMIDEAST and the American University in Cairo.
